Embark on a polar expedition like no other aboard Le Commandant Charcot.
Le Commandant Charcot is the latest addition to the Ponant Cruises fleet. She is the first of her kind – a hybrid polar exploration ship powered by liquified natural gas and electric generators, making her one of the most advanced polar vessels at sea. Described by many as a standard-bearer for sustainable cruising, the vessel offers an eco-friendly way for 245-guests to explore in comfort and style.
Commandant Le Charcot is an ice-class ship in keeping with her adventure-ready build. The vessel’s reinforced hull allows her to break through up to three metres of ice, permitting a deeper level of exploration. In 2021, Commandant Le Charcot became the first French-flag vessel to reach the North Pole. This theme of intrepid discovery continues throughout her itinerary collection, which features voyages to Alaska, Antarctica, and the Arctic.
